  1. The "new laws" for quantum computing are similar to those for dynamic languages: embrace chaos. I predict a shakedown for CS theory ahead.
  2. Just saw a new Dr. Who episode as it was first broadcast. There are definite perks to living in the UK.
  3. One final failing test in a Parrot branch to revamp the calling conventions.
  4. Like the professors are more focused on regurgitation than assimilation.
  5. Partly it's an emphasis on passing exams instead of on understanding the material.
  6. There's something odd about the UK style of teaching, but I haven't quite put my finger on it yet.
  7. Trading pseudocode on argument/return handling in Parrot over IRC.
  8. Submitted a proposal for PyCon 2010 on Pynie.
  9. The hinge on my Ubuntu laptop finally gave up enroute to Heathrow. Definitely time for a netbook.
  10. Upgrade to Mac OS 10.6 -> reinstall XCode at 3.2 -> remove old Fink -> remove old libreadline -> Parrot compiles and passes all tests.
  11. At the JVM Language Summit. Interesting to be scanning emails of new Twitter followers and suddenly notice they're sitting next to you.
  12. Eagerly watching the package tracker reporting my UK student visa will arrive tomorrow morning. Free to travel again!
