  1. @ftapon where are you headed next?
  2. In Chiang Dao to see caves & shrines. Staying at The Nest, which has an excellent restaurant - the princess of Thailand is here tonight!
  3. @amani_rulz I also discovered the "rose apple" which tastes a bit like apple with a hint of cinnamon essence. I wish I could bring one home
  4. @amani_rulz it's fucking GREAT! Smells like hell, tastes like heaven. Bought some at the market this morning, actually.
  5. Sometimes the sheer, bounless joy of living eclipses the ability of mere words to express. Thank you, Chiang Mai & Thailand
  6. Chiang Mai is cute, if touristy. I just signed up for 2 days of Thai cooking classes while Eddie goes jungle trekking.
  7. @amani_rulz I think about you every time I see durians! They are just in season here. Be home too soon, only 10 days left!
  8. in Chiang Mai after overnight bus from hell; sold deluxe sleeper, got dirty, old, piss-stinking unusable toilet rip off. Ah, Thailand
  9. Thunderstorms & rain forcast throughout southern Thailand, so we are heading north to Chiang Mai. Sad to miss more beach time, stupid rain
  10. @ftapon I love Seville! Make sure to get chocolate & churros on the bridge
  11. Back in Bangkok overnight, then heading to the far south of Thailand for more beach time. Speedboat off Ko Maak was terrifying, seas rough
  12. Arrived in paradise; Ko Mak is secluded & relaxed, with gorgeous warm, clear water. We have a tiny, basic bungalow on the beach; perfect.
  13. Back in Thailand after long bus rides; it's beach time! Tomorrow we head from Trat to Ko Maak, a secluded island in eastern Thailand.
  14. Taking a break in Siem Reap today. On the agenda: shopping for silk & spices, long lunch, 3-hour spa treatment & ice cream. Swanky!
  15. Angkor temples still amazing. Love the lack of pressure of a return trip. Couldn't climb to the top of Angkor Wat; a bit disappointing.
  16. Arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Town has gotten fancier and, strangely, quieter, in the last 5 years. Going to Angkor Thom temple today
  17. 12 hour bus ride to Cambodia coming up; goodbye Vietnam
  18. Bustling, oh-so-urban Saigon is quite a contrast to Hanoi. Food here is legendary; even the street food looks amazing. banh mi next up!
  19. Sunny day in Hanoi. Pho & cà phê sữa đá (iced coffee w/ condensed milk) for breakfast; Love Vietnam. Sightseeing & street food market today
  20. Halong Bay cruise surprisingly relaxing. Our flight to Ho Chi Min City cancelled. Plans slide back a day, but happy for more time in Hanoi!
