  1. @SAIDSMITH If your herbs are for the cold and imported from China, AND they make you sleepy, they may contain undeclared drugs. Not good.
  2. RT @shh71: Alt.Med not pd 4 by insurance. http://su.pr/1wxL40 - heard today that Chrisitan science is in #healthcare, why not Chinese herbs?
  3. RT @West_LA Dr. C. Thompson found GUILTY on all counts in road rage attacks against cyclists! Sent to jail. http://j.mp/oxbxB @joachimv
  4. @DrStevesBanjo I don't think that hope is being confused with acceptance. Hopelessness and acceptance represent doors into the same place.
  5. @DrStevesBanjo: chronically ill happier if they give up hope http://bit.ly/3EZekp - Tibetan Buddhism says "give up hope" we say "accept".
  6. Poaching, it's not just for ivory anymore. Xi yang shen, American ginseng in danger of extinction. http://bit.ly/1y0znF (via @suitewildlife)

  8. Why is flu prevailent during winter unknown. http://bit.ly/1UhBkn - TCM has "wen bing" or warm disease theory to explain viral/seasonal flu.

  10. American pilots who overshot their destination, distracted by alabis that keep changing. Anybody floated the Brokeback Airlines theory yet?
  11. Shi gao translates to "stone paste". Probably due to its mixability with water. Next time you have a fever, lick some dry wall. It's gypsum.
  12. Also good for Stomach fire leading to bad breath, bleeding gums, excessive appetite. This can indicate an early stage of diabetes 2 too.
  13. Shi gao enters the stomach too. Still used for acute viral infections such as "qi level heat" or "yang ming disease".
  14. Mostly use it for upper respiratory tract infections even though it apparently has no antibiotic or ant-iviral functions. Still works.
  15. The white color has an affinity for the "metal" organs in Chinese five phase theory. The metal organs are the Lung and Large Intestine.
  16. Shi gao, gypsum looks like ice. http://bit.ly/qvqJ1 - as it turns out, we use it to "purge fire" as you would expect of ice.
  17. It's a soft mineral, you can scratch it with a fingernail. Shows up in large layered crystals. The can be clear, or white. Reminds 1 of ice.
  18. Was just thinking about Chinese herb shi gao, the mineral gypsum. They mine it in Orange County, Cal. Used in dry wall. http://bit.ly/4qoNQZ
  19. RT @IngerJLAc: NY Times article on "An Economy in Need of Holistic Medicine" http://ow.ly/xdDB - article applies alt. med theory to economy.
  20. Why does the US state dept always refer to suicide bombings as "cowardly"? An attempt to undermine it in the eyes of the Islamists? Strange.
