  1. @random_musings Still, even if this is the policy, I would expect, that the browser at least informs the user. Most have no idea about 3.5.
  2. @Iossif Hast du dir mal die anderen (Mach)werke dieses Verlages angesehen? IMHO für Menschen mit stark beeinträchtigtem Intellekt.
  3. @random_musings Ha, about updates: I also wonder, why Firefox 3 does not suggest an automatic update to 3.5???
  4. http://tr.im/shfv Google Talk; "The Genius Myth": "If you have different opinions, please get your own talk on your own conference" ;-)
  5. @random_musings Tja ein "Sickerwitz" ;-) Wie übersetzt man "Sickerwitz" ins Englische?
  6. @random_musings Yes, I know. But I have the impression that recently it is often used in the sense I mentioned.
  7. @Iossif But generally spoken a good question!
  8. @Iossif As far as I am concerned, I might play Fallout 3 again. My PS3 totally crashed and deleted all my saves (or savings? or...?)
  9. What is the meaning of "A thought provoking talk..."? "Nonsense, but I do not dare to say so."?
  10. Grrr in big pressure now. No power, no internet the whole morning at the institute... hardly any work done. sh...
  11. Nicht sicher, wie korrekt das im Detail ist http://tr.im/rK0O Grundsätzlich aber interessante Idee ökon. Konjunktur am CO2 Level zu messen.
  12. @random_musings Hej, good to hear you are fine; but: what's wrong? No pictures, no videos? ;-)
  13. "Great Barrier Reef will be gone in 20 years" http://tr.im/rCfl (Charlie Veron, Times Online)
  14. @MichaelCerveny Ja, Saul Griffith ist immer nett; trotzdem hätte ich gerne etwas handfesteres...
  15. @MichaelCerveny There is also Saul Griffith who talks a lot about Kites (e.g. http://tr.im/ryw1) But find hardly anything scientific.
  16. @peterpur UI is not data-driven. Oh yes; I wish our students would get this point ;-) When I see UIs of their project, I need no further ERD
  17. @2020science Check out this TED talk http://tr.im/ryiI Particularla the part where Dennet describes the Ant-parasite.
  18. @crazymaik Might be interesting though; could be, e.g. that one system is more I/O bound and you have slow HDD, or something of that sort.
  19. Sloterdijk typisch für viele Philosoph(i)en? Banaler Quatsch in großen Worten oder tiefe Erkenntnis? Nicht immer leicht zu unterscheiden...
  20. @crazymaik Did you analyse system parameters (e.g. memory consumption, HDD activity...) on host system?
