  1. safely in Breasclete, wonderful to see Cris and Stubby - home made veg curry in the making. Fab.
  2. On deck watching extraordinary ice pink horizon silhoueting southernmost outer Hebrides. Sea a bit calmer. Me a bit sicker.
  3. Ok, so now I know what force 8 gusting 9 feels like at sea. I have renewed respect for those who work out here.
  4. wow! 2nd gear for 50 miles. Several cars off the road, others deciding to wait it out. Now at ferry terminal and the sun is out !
  5. Slightly concerned about news from work of system upgrade problems this weekend, nevertheless the haggis was excellent.
  6. listening to the shipping forecast with intent for a change. Storm force in Hebrides, today's stornoway ferry cancelled.
  7. Safely at loch Leven hotel. Intermittent phone signal. Skye ferry to Harris tomorrow.
  8. About to turn into Glen Coe, the highlands beautiful in the snow. We're out numbered by 4x4s but at least the windscreen wash has defrosted
  9. Phew. Arrived after very exciting 20 min controlled slide (literally) down steep slip road to other side of motorway where travelodge is.
  10. On m6 30 miles south of our first overnight stop at Carlisle and the snow blizzard has arrived. Everyone in slow lane single file.
  11. glorious sun on white sparkly fields, good start to the three day drive to the western isles
  12. E home, the packing marathon starts. First stop take-away curry. I can see this being very early morning packing.
  13. back home. few more work emails to finish off then its packing, laundry, loading car, clearing house (again) then scotland here we come
  14. at Cambridge campus after 1.5 hour trip in. Several routes in blocked by skidded buses and lorries. Gave a lift in to a couple of passengers
  15. Relieved to hear staff have made it back to Chelmsford through the blizzard after awayday dinner
  16. Looking at wife's amazing work, nearly finished for hand-in. She's just coming to bed for a nap after 24 hours straight, as I'm getting up.
  17. Off for christmas dinner with senior management team. Partners coming too, but not E this year, clashed with hand-in!
  18. at stansted for session with leadership and management course group to talk about moving corporate objectives forward - all good stuff

  20. Just got home. E tearing hair out putting hand in together, loads of printing, and home pc just blue screened. Not good.
