  1. Most fun Chanukah ever with @sandidubowski & co! But how did I become the latke maker??
  2. @Geniusbastard Will do--I plan on having several!
  3. off to Chanukah celebration! I get to embrace my half-Jewishness today
  4. @Geniusbastard Ok well, office is always open for enlisters if you change your mind. ;-)
  5. @Geniusbastard It takes some fighting but Dude, I am IN that army. Ain't ready to surrender yet.
  6. @Geniusbastard Call it hubris (worthy of a baseball cap) ;-), but I stand by my vision of the future
  7. @Geniusbastard I am confident. Media makers need to worry only about a) creating good stuff b) building a fan base
  8. @Geniusbastard As audiences gravitate towards content driven by social media influence, ANYONE has an oppty to build a fanbase w/o Hwood.
  9. @Geniusbastard ah, but they are NOT thriving. I predict a major downsizing in the next 12-24 months.
  10. Not to overstate the pt, but Tyler Perry's single-handed ability to DELIVER Hwood a paying audience proved the establishment out of touch.
  11. @Geniusbastard Totally. I'm not worried about those jokers though. The minute the flawed model quakes, they'll reveal their own ineptitude.
  12. @TerrorandLove I am very optimistic about the locus of power shifting more in favor of audiences tastes and demands.
  13. @TerrorandLove Oh don't worry. The artistic revolution WILL be televised ;-)
  14. @Geniusbastard Yeah, that's what kills me: the driving force is only superficially the bottom line. There are MANY other agendas at work.
  15. @Geniusbastard True, she did touch on it. I'm like: Wake me up when there's a seriously radical thinker in Hollywood.
  16. But in film, a medium that requires a multitude of ppl to accomplish, you get this weird male mob mentality driving the culture/production.
  17. It certainly can't be that women are lacking in a commercial sensibility because the spectrum is deeply diverse through genre and style.
  18. Consider this: why are some of the most commercial/successful talents in publishing women: Stephanie Meyer, JK Rowling?
  19. @Geniusbastard yes, and every female executive who does well within the system is unfortunately complicit.
  20. @TerrorandLove It IS. It's a climate so thoroughly rotten with the egos of a few clever people and a lot of middling greedy dudes holding on
