  1. @zachbraff You say something to the app and the Worthless Peons sing it back to you #ScrubsApp #BoingFlip
  2. Physicist friend's video: travel the world, talk to people, ask their questions. ft me @marktibbetts, SLAC&CERN friends youtu.be/bn0jQ1idPUs
  3. @necaris How about a service where you tweet a single number and it tweets back Lorem Ipsum of that length? #tooMeta
  4. @necaris (For a bit of meta, that tweet allowed me to test TweetDeck ;) )
  5. @necaris How about something which Lorem Ipsums onto an image which you then bit.ly to via Twitter?
  6. @ShevekUK Nice! I forgot I wrote a ROOT syntax highlighter...
  7. High Court > FBI. This is the only workable model of internet censorship bit.ly/IP2REd #betterButStillNotGood
  8. @marktibbetts Not Smark again?
  9. @ShevekUK Then the tensors we use do all the useful stuff you mentioned with vectors, co- and contra-variant etc
  10. @ShevekUK, yeah I think so. From what I remember a scalar is a tensor of rank 0, a vector has rank 1 etc, and a tensor is a matrix
  11. @ShevekUK I'm pretty sure it's the way around: dry maths soup that we co-opted when it became useful to us
  12. @ShevekUK I expected something more physically motivated, like "A vector is anything with size and direction", but for a tensor. That's all
  13. @ShevekUK, remember when we were told "A vector is anything that transforms as…"? Same with tensors! #huh? #mathematicalBlueBalls
  14. @ShevekUK The definition of a tensor is disappointingly simple and abstract
  15. This is really cute solomon.tinyurl.alexanderstreet.com/cgi-bin/asp/ph… /via @McCaineNL So sweet :)
