  1. "blew up"??? RT @jpyper: my g1 blew up on me last night...
  2. FYI Looking at homes is fun all by itself. RT @spacefem: [journal] home-buying aspirations http://bit.ly/4HJo3c
  3. Cannot live w/o browser add-on mapping <textarea> to emacs. RT @WebStudio13: Still stick to my Chrome RT @mashable Firefox 3.5...
  4. I lost respect when they started carrying wrestling. Why the silly name? RT @shawnp0wers: I still can't take the @syfy channel seriously...
  5. I was shocked too. RT @pilotmike: Seriously? The drone (UAV) video feeds aren't encrypted? WTH? http://bit.ly/580aDg
  6. .@jpyper I cannot say what MSFT does; I don't run it. Not sure how this relates to my #linux installs vs. upgrades, tho. Sorry.
  7. .@jpyper I'm afraid I don't understand your reference to Windows and speed regarding upgrade vs. install.
  8. .@flyddw @jpyer Sometimes I use similar trick with servers, replacing drives before PXE install. But I trust our backups, so not always.
  9. .@flyddw @jpyer I get not only new environment, but more disk space too *laugh*.
  10. .@flyddw @jpyer Install Fedora to larger external drive. Let's me fall back as needed until I'm happy w/new, and then I install the disk.
  11. .@flyddw @jpyer but I avoid upgrades tween versions, preferring full installs. On my laptop, for example I install onto a new disk each time
  12. .@flyddw @jpyer I run a most of my systems headless. Yum can ignore deps, but I cannot recall when I last did that.
  13. .@jpyer @flyddw Fedora, though, does "bleed" w/its own "oddities" (currently kickstart causing me grief {8^)
  14. .@flyddw @jpyper Issues like missing support for new hardware, bugs in LVM...never experience this stuff in RH/CentOS
  15. I've never had trouble w/either. But I do hit debian oddities every so often RT @jpyper: @flyddw Unless yum has improved over the years...
  16. .@robmaurizi The key being a non-shared daemon? I can still see their point, though more for performance than reliability I'd think.
  17. .@robmaurizi To be fair, a cluster is more reliable than a single host (at least if done properly {8^)
  18. Hmm. Reconsider Droid purchase? RT @IT_world: Google phone...not be sold through carriers... http://bit.ly/5XmtfN
  19. *Laugh* RT @flyddw: that's a radio also ;-) RT @propjock: radio failure ystrday, used mb phn
  20. Hooked to headset? Or how did you hear over engine sound? RT @propjock: ...used mb phn 2 call ...got traffic advisory...
