  1. New change last week at the Department of International Adoption. Dr. Long moved to a different department and was replaced as head of DIA.

  4. DIA will return dossiers to US agency reps from October 17 to October 28. Uncollected dossiers will then be forwarded to US DOS in Hanoi.
  5. DIA led agency meeting in Quang Binh on Friday and Saturday, June 27/28.

  7. USCIS will not require DNA testing in all cases where the relinquishing parent is known. It will instead be applied on a case by case basis.

  15. The July 1 "referral deadline" mentioned in an AP article on April 28th was not accurate. The deadline is September 1, 2008.

  18. Awaiting word from USCIS that their concerns were addressed and they're ready to investigate stalled I-600s from newly cooperating provinces
  19. The DIA is putting forth a significant effort into resolving stalled I-600s in "blocked" provinces. 1 now open for investigations, 5 to go.
