  11. @gjnue I have some pics of the jam. Is there a place I can upload them?
  12. @GrahamHill "so we must probe, sense and respond" Of course; always.
  13. RT @GrahamHill "Cause and effect are only coherent in retrospect and not repeatable" Que? Used an internal combustion engine recently? ;)
  14. @GrahamHill " emergent phenomena in complex adaptive systems" ... which are addressed by addressing the root process, not the em.phen..? :)
  15. @GrahamHill Certainly we would be wrong to ignore the existence of the group, but we need to address it as a collection of individuals.
  16. @GrahamHill ... demonstrating a link does not demonstrate causality. Groups exist because of members needs, not the other way round.
  17. @GrahamHill Sun shining on a forest seems to help the forest, but it does it by helping invdl trees. And they compete fiercely for light...
  18. @GrahamHill As a former evolutionary biologist, I could argue against that quite vehemently. :) Great discussion, thanks.
  19. @rufflemuffin What did you tell them?
  20. @GrahamHill Good point, but those are individual social needs... the group does not need the group. Its members need it.
