  1. @evangineer Oh, yes. Whole west wall now covered in 40-year plan for world domination.
  2. I'm back. Did you miss me? (My guess: no.)
  3. offline: http://www.aaronsw.com/webl...
  4. this is your last chance to talk to me if you need something this month
  5. about to go offline: http://www.aaronsw.com/webl...
  6. In the Mission, they keep condoms behind the counter. Five blocks north, where there are fewer Latinos, they're out. http://curecvsnow.org
  7. This is your annual reminder to read _Fortune's Formula_. Math, money, the mob, movies -- what's not to like?
  8. I see why I don't remember any of _Crabgrass Frontier_: it's terribly written. Luckily, a new edition comes out this Friday.
  9. Reading _Seeing Like a State_. Great book -- p. 329 alone is a much better version of _Blink_. Thanks to everyone who recommended it.
  10. I keep getting annoyed that Jim Scott uses "utilitarian" to mean "instrumental". Also, whoever keeps adding commas to library books: stop.
  11. Do people on Wall Street refer to the _Wall Street Journal_ as "the local paper"?
  12. Posted a brief description of Obama's policy process: http://www.aaronsw.com/webl...
  13. Finished _Outliers_. Definitely Gladwell's best book. Finished _The Hearts of Men_. Brilliant rethinking from Playboy to Phyllis Schafly.
  14. Saw _Star Trek_ (2009). Very good. Like a modern _A New Hope_, with a bigger budget. And time travel.
  15. Robert Shiller: "Take this whole stress test. It's a snow job, actually. That's what it is. They don't really know!" (Harvard Book Store)
  16. Robert Shiller: Obama has the Congress, just like FDR did, but he's not being as adventuresome. Larry Summers is too conservative.
  17. Finished _The Option of Urbanism_. Fantastic introduction to building nice neighborhoods. http://books.theinfo.org/go...
  18. Reading Donald Shoup's _The High Cost of Free Parking_. I was skeptical of a 700-page book, but it's fantastic. Free parking really is evil.
  19. Launched http://sestakvote.boldprogr... this morning; on a panel at the MIT Museum tonight.
  20. Watched Mamet's _Things Change_ (1988). An awful lot like _Being There_ with crime instead of politics.
