  1. @SteveALee SVG is allowed in HTML now. If they didn't want it I suppose they would have objected. But I don't really know.
  2. @jared_w_smith At the very least screen readers should document how to make them work the way you want, ay? :)
  3. 1st simple step to make GUI toolkit accessible on Win can be MSAA for widget+focus support. IA2 phase 2 for docs & more.
  4. MSAA is the foundation for IA2 support in any app. IA2 was purposely built to extend MSAA & still be almost same as ATK/AT-SPI.
  5. @kliehm re: http://www.hauptbahnhof-wien.at Nice, but ask them to use a few role landmarks? :)
  6. @md_curran How well does #NVDA handle heuristics & user settings for non-#ARIA live pages. Use Firefox's event-from-input hint?
  7. @md_curran Codetalks has #ARIA live region tests+notes. Not real-world yet, but show possibilities. Live stat tables anyone?
  8. @jcsteh Yeah that would be bad. Just the presence of WM_GETOBJECT as you said.
  9. @vick08, @jcsteh Biometric & single sign on solutions like fingerprint readers sometimes use MSAA to find password fields.
  10. @marcozehe Thanks for Easy ARIA tip #4 on landmarks, http://is.gd/4JmyB. What now? You might be already done w/ the easy stuff!
  11. @webarnold Firefox mem issues could be related to the web sites or extensions you use. Chrome/Opera also good, but Chrome not accessible.
  12. Good intro to HTML 5: http://diveintohtml5.org/
  13. @mmastrac Perhaps browsers just need to lighten their iframe impls & HTML should add new iframe layout abilities. Back-compat.
  14. @mmastrac Scoping in HTML would be powerful. Impls would need to modify their id/class optimizations. Scope could dynamically change.
  15. @darrell It's a well-supported opinion piece, and is listed as an opinion piece on the site. Opinion is also journalism.
  16. Here's a link to the original Afghanistan article, w/o the newstrust bar, hope that helps with JAWS issues: http://is.gd/4BLdA
  17. Discovering newstrust.net, a way to find the best news articles. Outstanding Afghanistan article http://newstrust.net/stories/324079/toolbar
  18. @sallycain * Won't affect monopoly status * Ppl can now download free basic ATs * Power AT market lives on * Fair because other OSs have it
  19. How about all OSs settle on Alt/Cmd+F5 to toggle screen reader? OS X already does. Blind users could launch w/o knowing OS.
  20. Microsoft should join Mac & Linux and bundle a screen reader for basic needs. Blind users are users like everyone else. #a11y
