  1. I liked how Shubert's Unfinished Symphony was worked into the story - the ending scene at the amphitheater was priceless.
  2. Isao Numazaki (Yuzo) and Chieko Nakakita (Masako) had good chemistry together. I liked how they worked off each other.
  3. Just watched Akira Kurosawa's ONE WONDERFUL SUNDAY. More than a love story, it is a triumph of spirit. The cast was dead on.
  4. Just finished reading OUT STEALING HORSES by Per Petterson. Definately one of the better novels.
  5. Eric Bana and Daniel Craig were good in MUNICH. Eric Bana was very believable. The story had a flow that was easy to follow.
  6. Watched VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA tonight. Javier Bardem was great. I also liked Scarlett Johansson. I must visit Barcelona some day.
  7. Watched the film MUNICH by Steven Spielberg last night. Very intense - the never ending war.
  8. Can I use 'Thumbs up' or has that been copyrighted? I will wait for my bill.
  9. I will have to read this novel again. There is so much going on and the side notes that support the plot are very educational. Thumbs up!
  10. Just finished reading THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING by Milan Kundera. A very worthwhile read. Muss es sein? Es muss sein!
  11. Interesting take on ghosts. Staying as you are; example given; hungry at time of death and always be hungry.
  12. I can guess a reason for why, 2 eliminate 2 rival union men but who gained from that elimination?
  13. "As planned" who planned the murders? I understand the first two murders were pawns but who used them. The killer was revealed but not why?
  14. Just watched PITFALL by Hiroshi Teshigahara. Screenplay by Kobe Abe. A very good story although I have questions.
  15. Listening to Arvo Part 'In Principio'.
  16. Is it my imagination or is it that gunmen never miss in the movies unless they are the so-called bad guys? Just curious.
  17. Once again, I find myself enthralled by the cinematography (Mutsuo Naganuma) and the snow scenes. Soundtrack was good too.
  18. It was nice to see Katagiri give himself a swift kick in the ass and marry Kie (Takako Matsu) who he was obviously in love with throughout.
  19. Dueling friends, unrequited love, public image, and modern times vs. old fashioned ways were all on display effectively.
  20. Just watched THE HIDDEN BLADE by Yoji Yamada. All the gimics to story telling were there but pleasantly pulled off.
