  1. One of my favorite displays in the garden - the martagon lilies in Azalea Woods have begun to flower.
  2. Lilacs, weigela, and buddleja are looking spectacular in flower on Sycamore Hill.
  3. The last of the peonies and the Kolkwitzia in the Peony Garden are looking beautiful.
  4. As dogwoods reach their peak, double-file viburnum starts to flower and fills the woodland understory with white for another 4 weeks.
  5. Primroses in shades of pink, magenta, and purple in the Quarry. 'Firefly' azaleas are hot red on Oak Hill.
  6. Azaleas, silverbells, pink & white dogwoods, and Japanese primroses are at or near their peak.
  7. Dogwoods and azaleas!
  8. Azaleas are opening in Azalea Woods over wildflowers; Jacob's ladder, trillium (white, yellow, purple), and bluebells (native & Spanish).
  9. Pink and white dogwoods are really beginning to show and "Queen of the North" daffodils are peaking along Clenny Run in the meadow.
  10. Redbuds are out in full force and azaleas are starting to peek out of their buds.
  11. Trillium and anemone looking beautiful in Azalea Woods.
  12. Trillium and bluebells in flower in Azalea Woods, white spring beauty in flower on Conservatory Lawn beneath the big magnolia.
  13. Clenny Run, the stream behind the Cottage, looks beautiful today with white and purple magnolias and a large flowering serviceberry.
  14. This afternoon magnolias, quince, early rhododendrons, and daffodils!
  15. Like daffodils, bluebells are an advertisement for spring. A nice drift of watery-blue bluebells is in flower at the Reflecting Pool.
  16. A bit dreary with the rain, but the cherries and magnolias are still sparkling despite the gray.
  17. On the drive in this evening I saw the daffodils lit up by sunset and the magnolias along Clenny Run just coming into flower.
  18. Flowering quince and spiraea just coming into flower in the SUNDIAL GARDEN this morning.
  19. Mixed clouds and sun highlighting some special plants in the garden: Prinsepia, quince, cherries, and daffodils are starting to flower.
  20. Snowflurries this morning! No frost though; Winterhazel and Magnolia 'Wada's Memory' at or near peak this morning.
