@ To get PowerPivot sheets in gallery - just publish to SharePoint and choose gallery location.

@ Sync is very good option - just make sure you test it. Oh, issues I listed were reported over WAN. Don't know about issues over LAN.

@ I know that people are using it and it works. Known issue was with locks - cannot update while somebody is querying.
