  1. Applications from feshmen students continue to come in at a good pace -- the historic first "200" class is shaping up! Go Jaguars!
  2. UHV passed two milestones yesterday--notified of full SACS endorsement for freshmen admission then received first applications within hours.
  3. My blog on our work in China was published in full in Victoria Advocate today; student/faculty opportunity abounds with good China partners.
  4. UHV's annual report and awards banquet tomorrow night will be a gala affair with largest attendance ever and many supporters to recognize!
  5. Great day for Texas and UH with the passage of Proposition 4 which establishes a fund to help universities' drive to achieve Tier 1 status.
  6. UHV "tees" up another sport for 2010 Wedesday; luncheon to raise money for men's/women's golf; Homero Blancas, once shot a 55!, will speak.
  7. VOTE! Texans can support more Tier 1 universities, better research and brighter economic prospects in tomorrow's election on "Proposition 4.
  8. Just learned that this December's graduation will be UHV's largest ever and over 95% of those eligible will walk in the ceremony!

  11. UHV supported African American Chamber event last night sponsoring a table, many leaders were honored including Rep. Geanie Morrison.
  12. Dr. DiLeo, Dr. Rice, other UHV leaders have been on the speaking circuit to great effect as regional communities support downward expansion.
  13. Friday to China, four cities,and tons of meetings to solidify the growing relationships that are bringing terrific Chinese students to UHV.
