  1. It is not because intelligence falls in obscure woods, that it does not exist, where others have never been before.
  2. Says the African philosopher: don't spite Africa. If its dark light did not reach you, that does not mean it does not exist.
  3. Zero is, because zero does. Mathematics is about effectiveness, not just local correctness.
  4. A system of thought that claims universality is no better than its worst part. Let Christians and Muslims meditate this.
  5. Bankers are endowed by the state with most money creation. Should not that force them into a fiduciary role relative to the entire nation?
  6. It is easy to be naive, it is hard to be cynical. Learning from dogs is as its most instructive when those dogs are bipedal.
  7. Logic is in the details. But one cannot just do details. Big picture -abstraction- is also how one thinks. But abstraction is distortion.
  8. Think of WWII as a crime. Then wonder: to whom did that crime profit? Think of unemployment as a crime. To whom did the trillions profit?
  9. If one confuses theorems, rules, and counterexamples, one can "prove" whatever insanity requires.
  10. Given an extreme, even insane, position with powerful partisans, people can always be found that cynically support it.
  11. Think, or sink. So it is for civilizations even more than individuals.
  12. Heidegger: Sinker rather than thinker.
  13. Knowledge is good. More knowledge is better.
  14. A good baby is just another self one loves even more than anything one could ever imagine.
  15. Appreciating beauty is a royal road to altruism.
  16. The intellectual's fact: the more one knows, the more one asks. Nor is it true, dear Socrates, that the more one asks, the less one knows.
  17. To think is, often, in first order, to simplify. Thus the way to complexity is paved with equations. Equating is, always, to simplify.
  18. Philosophy, just as science, is not just a wish, and a body of knowledge, it's a method. A different method.
  19. What is enounced fiercely can be denounced clearly.
  20. The devil is not just in the details, it's mostly inside the cretinism.
