  1. RT @HelpAnimals: Animal abuse at University of Utah exposed http://is.gd/56jQ4
  2. I am thankful daily. Thankful every day is not Thanksgiving. If it were my ass would expand into a whole new continent.
  3. @GullMaj Thanks for your good wishes! Hope you're doing well.
  4. Found my 2nd grade report card. Mrs. Propper (teacher's real name) wrote "she agitates the class with impromptu performances."
  5. "Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted."-- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
  6. "Why don't you write books people can read?" -- Nora Joyce to her husband James (1882-1941)
  7. Art and storytelling are universal: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/...
  8. @aravindadiga "The Slaughterer" by IB Singer comes to mind. He gave a lecture in Yiddish at my University--right before lunch.
  9. @AuthorRussell Yes, Nichole Richie and Paris Hilton are literary giants guaranteed to fatten handlers' wallets. :-)
  10. @GLHancock #writechat Hi. I write screenplays that win awards but never get made! The kind that should have been novels first. :-)
  11. @AuthorRussell #writechat True, but many look for originality/quality. One genius told me, "You're just not famous enough for me to rep."
  12. #writechat Must log off. I'd be happy to give input on anyone's one-sentence summary/logline. Just DM me and give me a few days!
  13. #writechat A compelling logline works great in a query. As trite as it sounds, imagine writing a blurb of your story for TV guide.
  14. @GLHancock #writechat I write non-fiction. My book is a memoir. Plus, I'm a screenwriter.
  15. #writechat Queries should be as concise as possible. I learned this from working for an agent and at Simon & Shuster during college.
  16. #writechat Often agents reject your work not because it's bad, but because it's not what they are looking for at the moment.
  17. #writechat ....best one signed me. Patience and persistence count!
  18. #writechat Out of 60 queries I sent to agents re: my book: 20 replied it wasn't right for them, 13 read and rejected chapter samples...
  19. @rachelcantor C'mon, there's no denying Tuvia was handsome. ;) Yes, their story is still on my mind, too. http://twitpic.com/qjfgh
  20. @rachelcantor Have you seen the documentary with real photos of them? Tuvia was even better looking than Daniel Craig.
