  1. is playing with his nephews in New York City. He'll be there through the 19th, with a break to attend NERFA in the Hudson Valley.
  2. is on the train to Los Angeles, where he will attend a Bar Mitzvah and see some old friends from university.
  3. is stuffed (but not overly so) after hitting every restaurant sans/salvo Spicy Pickle in tonight's Little Italy Restaurant Walk.
  4. just watched his first episode of Dexter.
  5. watched 51 films/programs over the 15-day SD Asian Film Festival. Now it's time for the SD Italian Film Festival.
  6. is skipping one day of the film festival to attend his [mumble]th high school reunion tonight In L.A.
  7. got addicted to CNN International's "Back Story" while in SE Asia and now finds himself up too many nights watching it from 0130 to 0200 PT.
  8. A nice romp through Nepalese villages, a coming-of-age film from Taiwan, and a deceased junkie mom & her daughters. All at #SDAFF.
  9. saw 2 great doc's, a nice romantic movie from Thailand, and an excellent Korean-American thriller tonight at the #SDAFF.
  10. loved "Om Shanti Om", a parody of Bollywood films. The film print even included all the trailers from its India release in 2007. #sdaff
  11. watched 13 films this weekend at the SD Asian Film Festival. Funniest: "White On Rice". Weirdest: "猫ラーメン大将". #sdaff
  12. had a rewarding opening night at the San Diego Asian Film Fest. A doc on Jack Soo (Goro Suzuki) and two dramas incl. 1 from Japan. #sdaff
  13. is savoring one last evening at home (except for a planned Yogurtland dinner run later) before he embarks on his film festival marathon.
  14. weekend: SDLFF "Cinema en tu idioma";Pacific Beachfest & local Polish festival; Soltan Banoo; Hash Brown Breakfast Burrito for Sunday dinner
  15. had a full weekend: Contra dancing, Int'l Book Fair, La Mesa's Oktoberfest, and Trolley Dances. If only he'd known about entijuanarte 09...
  16. is heading to Lestat's tonight to check out three singers he's never heard of: Aaron Beaumont, Damion Wolfe, & Rosi Golan.
  17. is feeling nervous about taking his Japanese placement exam in a few minutes even though he knows there's absolutely no reason to.
