  1. Going through old tweets looking for something & noticed @fboutsiders playoff predictor nailed all NFC playoff teams after Wk3 again
  2. @FO_DTuccitto @FO_VVerhei I'm sorry, have you been NORVed lately?
  3. @FO_DTuccitto 7 for Chuck Noll. I thought he had one or two more than that.
  4. @laurabrevitz I can sort of see that, but personally have a hard time with fairness-based arguments & their tendency to ignore tradeoffs.
  5. @barfyook I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU ALL! I HOPE YOU DIE!!!!!! Happy now?
  6. Follow list is getting out of control. Going to have to start whacking some. Nothing personal.

  8. New post, The Puzzling Arguments in Favor of Guaranteed NFL Contracts bit.ly/L8f0Ta
  9. @elishearn Effect might be to privilege the vets good enough to sign multi-year deals, while more marginal vets find it harder to get jobs
  10. @Ian_Ganley Maybe, maybe not, depending on how negotiation goes. NHL doesn't, which helps players & is competitive balance issue
  11. @EnglishNFL I like the NFL's system. Right now, I'm just trying to understand the argument we'd be better if all contracts were guaranteed
  12. I'll have to sit down and think about that and write a post on it some day
  13. One effect of all gtd contracts might be to lengthen careers of vets & reduce total player turnover. Not sure that's normatively good or bad
  14. I can sort of see a distributional argument, in that gtd contracts might overpay declining veterans who outperformed their rookie deals
  15. In a cap system, though, the total compensation has a relatively rigid limit, so it's not like the players will be making 20% more
  16. One thing I struggle with is the argument that NFL players are really missing out by not having their contracts fully guaranteed
  17. New Total #Titans post, Locating the hypothesis and the Titans' offensive line bit.ly/LvMSZs
  18. A third or so into Bakewell's How to Live, which 65% vindicates/35% makes me rethink my unconsidered decision to eschew reading Montaigne
  19. Objective (first draft of all player comments for FOA 2012): completed.
  20. @FtblSickness @FantasyAcumen Pressure seemed to get to Rivers more, maybe health. Didn't see a lot other than Gates open intermediate LY.
