  1. For wine geeks: Passetoutgrain (Passe-Tout-Grains), is an AOC for all of Burgundy. Blend of at least 1/3 pinot noir & no more than 2/3 gamay
  2. @ValerieConfctns @NickKristof ...barcode or bug, for more info (on a Website), at the end of an article or in an ad? Seems like no-brainer?
  3. @ValerieConfctns @NickKristof: "For Christmas, I want a shining new business model for newspapers." --Why can't I use my iPhone to scan a...
  4. @swirlsmellslurp For a New Mexico stop, you could go to @gruetwinery just north of Albuquerque. Sparklers are amazing--make still wine too.
  5. @vintwined Can't wait to hear about CambriaLA event. Oddly, I wasn't on the list. Enjoy!
  6. @swirlsmellslurp ....regarding Salon, cannot blame you but Krug Is still my all time favorite (pun intended). Great to hear from you Sacha!
  7. @swirlsmellslurp Learned that Gosset ferments in small oak like Krug, but the wine doesn't go thru Malo (not common in Champagne)....
  8. Gosset Grand Millesime 1999 and then Krug Grande Cuvée AND Gaston Chiquet Spécial Club 1999. VERY serious Champagne. I'm very lucky.
  9. "We are generally not huge fans of wine and cheese together."---WSJ's Gaiter & Brecher (in this weekend's article) HUH?! That's stunning!
  10. Pommery 1995 Cuvee Louise? Yes, I'm @POPchampagnebar and bubbly expert, Ralph, is holding court. Also tasted Pierre Peters Blanc de Blanc.
  11. Loire night (for me)--white Chinon (100% chenin blanc) & sparkling Vouvray @heritagewineco. Paired well with their delicious new food menu.
  12. It's chicken pot pie weather so I'm at Smitty's Grill in Pasadena. The wine pairing is like the Thanksgiving dilemma, so I chose pInot noir!
  13. Just enjoyed glass of Schiopetto Collio Friulano. Full-bodied & complex. Easily one of top white wine producers in Italy, if not the world.
  14. I've never had a dessert wine made from tannat. This one is called Alcyone (from Uruguay!). Another gem suggested by Ralph @popchampagnebar.
  15. Also tasted Bruno Pailliard Brut. Small producer and the first to put the disgorgment date on every label.
  16. Just tasted 3 incredible Champagne Chartogne Taillet @POPChampagneBar. Sit at the bar and Ralph will turn you on to amazing bubbles.
  17. Poured Byron Pinots today (disclosure: I sell them) at Jensen's, Palm Springs. The locals R wonderful people; enjoyed good juice & wine talk
  18. 2005 V. Girardin Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes. Showing extremely well. Had a glass at Mission Wines.
  19. Artadi is well known for its incredible red Riojas, but its Vinas de Gain Blanco is also delicious wine. 2005 is 100% old-vine Viura.
  20. @GrapeAndVine "Like rosé wine, tennis is best served in daylight." Rosé is serious wine for year-round, night & day. Heard of Tempier?
