  1. @jameslear518 thanks for the support. I'm sure we'll be back before long :)
  2. The Challenger: "I'm still pretty wet" - he's off to get changed, get warm and have a coffee.
  3. Stuart Sterzel: we're going to carry on supporting Yves and we expect to be together a long time.
  4. Stuart Sterzel, Webtel.mobi - for us today was a success, Yves showed very fine qualities of courage and resilience. I'm very proud.
  5. The Challenger: I can't tell how fast I'm going. No instruments. I gauge it like putting my hand out of the car window.
  6. Search and rescue diver: we were very confident and followed the drills today. We rehearsed very well yesterday.
  7. Question: when did you have have to eject? The Challenger: we estimate 3-4 minutes into the flight.
  8. The Challenger: the more powerful wing didn't have a big enough range - it wasn't ready for this challenge.
  9. Question: Why didn't you use the more powerful wing here?
  10. The Challenger: Yes, I want to do this crossing again. I can do it. Just not in these clouds!
  11. Question: will you fly here again?
  12. The Challenger: I have a bigger, more powerful wing. I want to fly in the Grand Canyon.
  13. Question: what's next?
  14. The Challenger: main problem was turbulence and poor visibility - I have no instruments and have to rely on feel
  15. The Challenger: the problem was the wing was heavy at the beginning so slow to climb, and the gap between stalling and climbing is small
  16. SkyNews: was there any problem with the engines or just turbulence?
  17. The Challenger: I was in the water for quite a few minutes. It felt like a long time - it was very cold.
  18. I suddenly saw I was only at 850m altitude flying at 300 km / hr. So I let go of the wing and deployed the parachute.
  19. Very difficult because you can't see anything, everything is grey, just having to work on feel.
  20. Hit a lot of turbulence in the clouds.
