  1. @CharlieMcVeigh it is a disgustingly delicious secret shame of a product! Their bacon salt is also horribly addictive
  2. @jamiegoode 'Feeling a bit stiff round the groin area.' May be too much information!
  3. 04 Climens was a fine nightcap. showing classic Climens reserve and polite sweetness, pure and precise it was already drinking wonderfully
  4. 81 was a bonus, much better than vintage reputation would suggest, classy, elegant stuff and the overachiever of the night
  5. 82 was my favourite, this seemed at the crest of its plateau, nearing the end of the its fruity glory, entering an age of savoury delight
  6. 89 was more introspective and needs patience, a tense core of coiled deliciousness ready to pounce
  7. 90 was great but with occasional whiff of cooked fruit, vintage or provenance? Still very flattering, hedonistic and fun but expected more
  8. 95 was delicious, soft, fragrant, with subtle intensity and burgeoning fruit, an epiphany wine for @bottanyb back in the day, still singing
  9. 98 was in a funny place, didn't get it together tonight, fruit was constricted, lacked a convincing middle, abrupt finish added to malaise
  10. 00 was a step up, real solid core of berries and earth. showed a bit of muscle but impressed with balance and depth, cool, calm & collected
  11. 01 stating to blossom, easy & charming as a lot of 01 right banks seem to be, plump, good dense fruit, a lot to like but lacked a real hook
  12. 04 was the house pour, two glasses were enjoyed, more open than expected - respectable, gentle fruit, creamy, a good drop but nothing more
  13. 05 was sweeter, richer, reticent but showing enough fruit and flesh to hint at joys to come, @bottanyb has a case, we'll follow its destiny
  14. we started with the 06 and 05 introduced by Jean-Michel Laporte from the Chateau, 06 was firm, closed and 'classic', in need of a decade
  15. We tasted 06, 05, 04, 01, 98, 95, 90 , 89, 82, 81 over 5 magnificent courses from Brett Graham, a chef who was touched by genius tonight
  16. Truly exceptional dinner with @bottanyb at the Ledbury. Conseillante tasting put on by Bordeaux Index, amazingly the food outshone the wine
  17. @foodguardian ahh you are tired that's why you are grumpy!
  18. @bottanyB @foodguardian it is next week on the 15th I think @bottanyb must already be drunk
  19. @foodguardian don't be too down on Hix - remember damn fine steak. I'd rather him than Aikens or Ramsay, he cares about food, folks and fun
  20. @jamiegoode yes
