  2. Epicurean Classis this weekend in St. Joseph, MI. Hope to see you there.
  3. Just scored about 3# golden chantrel and 1.5# porcini from the mushroom master himself, Jim Moses...now what to do with them.
  4. Still alive. Very busy month. Cookbook realease is Nov. 11. Exciting new stuff on the menu.
  5. With a rare evening off tonight I am going to the movie Moon at the State Theater here in down town Traverse City.
  6. New menu items: Arugula and Squash Blosom Salad w/ Sumac; Golden Beets w/ Baby Beet Greens and Wild Watercress; Blueberries, Ricotta & Honey
  7. Just read through the proof of the first part of our cookbook. The people putting it together are doing a great job. We're very excited.
  8. Wow! So many new things in season but not enough menu space.
  9. Apparently The Cooks House got a mention on the Martha Stewart show by a certian famous chef who likes us. Not bad I say.
  10. Wild Mulberry Creme Brule and Cherry Clafouti. New desert items.
  11. Wild mulberries, bronze fennel fronds, zuccini blossoms, English peas, and sage.What to do,what to do.Some changes of the menu seem in order
  12. Finally, Cherry Festival numbers. We were just too busy, but today for lunch was more like it.
  13. Maybe Cherry Fest isn't going to be a total wash this year. Decent lunch and dinner is shaping up.
  14. What a great weekend. Hope this week is better than expected. Cherry Fest is not a good week for restaurants in TC.

  18. New in house: fava beans, goat loin. I will use the goat loin in the tasting menus tomorrow.
  19. We just got in some of the most amazing little French green beans from Dollar Lake Farm.
  20. Strawberry Short Cake, Rhubarb Tart...ummm.
