  1. @jeremarketer @drseanmullen thank you.
  2. @clutchagency cool name.
  3. @RealPaul thank you, sir.
  4. @mfitz0705 yep.
  5. @dmcgurgan If Target loses that dual focus, it turns into a generic retailer. That's my worry.
  6. @dmcgurgan Target's buyers used to be very "on brand" with their selections. Target also controls the shopping experience...
  7. @dmcgurgan Yep. Target's model can't fall into the hands of profit maximization peeps. It has to be balanced. The brand isn't just a skin.
  8. @acousteau That would be very cool. I'll be there most of the summer. :)
  9. @AngelaDaffron whew. So it isn't just me.
  10. @dmcgurgan what made target a success was that it was cool and cheap. The cool is going away and it can't win on cheap.
  11. @dmcgurgan If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Target is going for the low hanging fruit now. I get it, I get why, but it's very risky.
  12. @dmcgurgan McDonald's did and it seems to be working. Though for Target, it isn't about change. It's about being Target.
  13. @jenmooreKY the new stores, mostly. Also some of the recent exclusive retail placement deals like Nook vs other e-readers.
  14. @DesireeW me too. Maybe it's just a phase.
  15. @janemmason have they remodeled your local target stores yet?
  16. @nathantwright yep. The remodel is in progress.
  17. @Rasheed_Brown see my tweets to @nathantwright
  18. @nathantwright it isn't horrible yet, but you can see the changes begin already. Bad direction. Short term gains vs longevity.
  19. @nathantwright also, Target allowed Nook to buy out other e-readers in their stores, which blows for shoppers.
  20. @nathantwright the new retail layout is soulless, for starters. Cramming products together to maximize efficiency.
