  1. The NHL won't suspend or fine Alex Ovechkin for his hit on Buffalo's Patrick Kaleta on Wednesday, I have been told.
  2. I'm told the Caps do not expect Alex Ovechkin to receive a suspension for his boarding major on Buffalo's Patrick Kaleta.
  3. Mike Knuble also said that he's on LTI, so he can't play until the Buffalo game on Dec. 9.
  4. Mike Knuble is skating for the first time since getting six screws and a plate inserted into his pinky finger on his left hand.
  5. I'm hearing Karl Alzner has been recalled. He should be on the ice for the morning skate and ready to go, if needed, tomorrow night.
  6. Just bumped into Pothier and Clark on the way to Subway, presumably for a 5 dollar foot long. Ah, the glamorous life.
  7. A few updates: Nuevirth to Hershey; Varly to start tonight; S. Morrisonn out tonight; Semin, B. Gordon and Jurcina stayed home.
  8. Andrew Gordon has been recalled.
  9. Tom Poti does not appear to be on the bench for the start of the third period. Asked about Poti's status, GMGM said: "Not sure."
  10. More injuries for Caps. Tom Poti has left bench. Tyler Slaon back on defense.
  11. Michal Neuvirth will start tonight, according to Bruce Boudreau.
  12. Shaone Morrisonn (head) and Milan Jurcina (leg) are out tonight, so that means rookie John Carlson will make his NHL debut.
  13. Based on the morning skate, it looks like Semyon Varlamov will be between the pipes tonight.
  14. Defenseman Shaone Morrisonn is day to day with an upper body injury. He did not skate today and played only 10:27 last night.
  15. McPhee was also less optimistic about Laing's recovery time frame than BB. McPhee said 4-6 weeks.
  16. McPhee also said Semin "could" miss the weekend with his wrist injury.
  17. GM George McPhee said no update on Michael Nylander. Judging from his body language, he's pretty exasperated about the situation.
  18. GM George McPhee said Theodore might need a few more days before playing. Which might mean Varlamov and Neuvirth will split the weekend.
  19. Alexander Semin has been spotted wearing a brace (the kind with velcro straps) on his right wrist.
  20. Chris Clark on Quintin Laing: "It's like he plays the game with someone else's body."
