  1. Is there any weather relief on the way for the S. Calif. wildfires? Tune into Weather Center with Cantore & Steele tonight for more.
  2. Florida is the U.S. lightning capital. T-storms moving through Orlando: almost 700 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes in just 10 minutes!
  3. Smoke is shrouding the Vegas strip. Even some ashfall on cars! This has prompted some false-alarm calls to local fire departments!

  5. Break out the jackets this weekend in the Midwest. Int'l Falls, MN should have a frost Sunday AM. Madison, WI may have a frost Mon AM!
  6. Danny is one of the most disjointed "tropical" storms I have seen. Some storms never get their act together!
  7. Hurricane Bill has a huge wind field! Hurricane winds extend up to 115 miles from the eye, comparable to both Ike & Katrina's wind fields!
  8. Will weather throw a water hazard into the final rounds of the PGA Championship? Tune into Weather Center tonight at 7p ET.
  9. With '09 being a "late-starting" Atlantic hurricane season, does that mean the threat's over? Tune into Weather Center tonight at 7p ET.
  10. Only 8 seasons since 1950 have started after Aug. 11. Of those, only '84 had above-average number of named storms.

  12. Live shots with white out conditions in Rapid City should continue through this evening on TWC. Tune in!
  13. Planning to drive in the mountains of northern CO, eastern WY, western/central Dakotas Mon/Tue should make alternate plans (snowstorm!).
  14. @echoofthunder Ok...thanks for your report! Enjoy your weekend!
  15. @echoofthunder Any accumulations? Just grassy surfaces?
  16. What should be a day of celebration in Fargo (N. Dak. St. in the NCAA tournament) is instead filled with anxiety. Major flooding next week.
  17. We had some visibilities lowered to the point it's usually considered "heavy" snow in parts of northern NJ!
  18. On this first day of spring....some flurries & light snow falling in parts of the NYC metro and Philly as well.
  19. @Frenzy36 I agree! Skiing & snowshoeing in it...fun! Shoveling it...not so much ;)
  20. @BratsyAnn Interesting! Yeah...Key West has had only about 25-30% of their average rain so far in '09. Nice weather...but rain's needed!
