  7. Back from a long trip to La./Texas, with stops throughout the South. Will be writing about them all soon. Loved Galveston and Beaufort, SC!

  12. 5,000 miles later, I'm in sunny Seattle. That's right: sunny! A miracle, since the locals tell me it rains or is cloudy 300 days a year.
  13. My Ohio Amish Country blog is up. Spent Thurs. in astounding St. Joseph, Mo., researching future story on the Pony Express. 150 yrs next yr
  14. About to head down the Mo. portion (and a little of Ok.) of old Route 66. Carol and I have done most of it but somehow missed Mo!
