  3. After several experiments come to conclusion my off-peak power isn't switching properly. Preparing to do battle with Southern Electric
  4. A day of reviewing and writing docs with some z/OS debugging for light relief. I think I'm going to need more coffee

  9. spent the last few weeks learning more about z/OS memory layout and linking conventions than I ever expected to know
  10. haven't posted for a month. not dead, honest. Just really busy.
  11. my interrupt handler got 10 levels deep today. Not good.
  12. Saw 'His Dark Materials' at the Oxford playhouse yesterday. Six hours of brilliance.
  13. they've just started digging holes in the pavement outside my house for no aparent reason. No note through the door, no advanced notice :(
  14. watched Gran Torino. Excellent. Really vv good. Serious drama but laugh out loud funny in places.
  15. confused someone by asking them to "hold tight" in the sense of "wait for a moment." It is a normal idiom isn't it, or am I going mad?
  16. spent over an hour in status meeting this morning :-( Despite this still in a fairly good mood.
