@ Agree w/ @. Also svn tries to diff every file locally to see what's changed. So huge files are going to slow it down.

@ svn can be slow if you have many GBs in just one revision, so I wouldn't use it to store assets for a PS3 game. Works great for me.

@ 500MB won't get you very far if you check in game assets even for an iPhone game. My svn rep is 1.8 GB at the moment.
