  1. Quake Live could have used the free to play model (and through a browser) to take Quake mainstream as LoL did. It didn't. Not even close.
  2. I say this donning the Quake symbol as my Twitter/G+ icon since i joined. So disappointing for the community, and the game I love.
  3. I don't blame them. No developer has dropped the ball more than id Software in terms of the competitive/eSports community, and as a whole.
  4. Quake players are upset at id Software's lack of care for competitive community/eSports, will switch to Shootmania after DH/QuakeCon.
  5. Additionally, Cooller and Cypher have not joined SK. Cypher also says he will attend DH over Shootmania, but is upset at id Software.
  6. Stremy and Strenx going to Shootmania over DHS/Quake, while Rapha confirms to me his team is a fake signup, he will "100% be going to DH"
  7. Shootmania releases player list for event same weekend as DreamHack Summer, includes star FPS/Quake players. bit.ly/KBVEsv
  8. @roaldvanbuuren this is same weekend as DHS?
  9. @roaldvanbuuren where's this team list?
  10. As someone who works for GameSpot (subsidiary of CBSi), I had no previous knowledge of the CBSi deals, as editorial is separated.
  11. I will be conducting a interview with Simon for @GameSpot to clarify the poor reporting on CNBC/Reuters, and hear CBSi's future on eSports.
  12. @pattheflip just all my recent tweets the past 20 minutes or so, article coming
  13. @pattheflip check my clarifications. Poor reporting from John.
  14. @roaldvanbuuren Simon's quotes at the end are my source info, not official press statements.
  15. So - MLG, NASL, TwitchTV, Own3d have direct CBSi partnerships. No other leagues do, but were named via their broadcast deals with TwitchTV.
  16. "96% of all the advertising inventory" refers to LIVE video only, and does not include VOD's such as YouTube and Blip.tv.
  17. IPL is for non-exclusive advertising sales via TwitchTV. GSL was named for their prior broadcasting with Twitch/Own3d, nothing direct.
  18. EVO, DreamHack, ESL, IPL were named via their broadcast deals with TwitchTV, but do NOT have direct partnerships with CBS Interactive.
  19. CBS Interactive has direct partnerships only with MLG, TwitchTV, and now NASL and Own3d. CBSi will sell advertising for them worldwide.
  20. I have spoken to CBS Interactive Games General Manager Simon Whitcombe to clarify points in John Gaudiosi's Forbes/CNBC/Reuters article.
