  1. Wow. Impromptu in-person interview tomorrow, and it's somewhere that only requires an hr commute. WOOT.
  2. Anyone know how you go about getting security clearance?
  3. As for: "Are you open to relocation", I say heck yes! I need to be somewhere w/more of a tech writing market.
  4. @_samjones I have T-Mobile, and I NEVER have a signal. I finally switched to prepaid because I got tired of paying for unused minutes.
  5. I read the 5 Best / 5 Worst Job Market list for Sept. My metro area isn't in the top 5, but it's not in the bottom 5 either. Phew.
  6. My fave recruiter gave me a pep talk yesterday. In his words, he "likes to spread hope". How awesome is he? I wish more peeps did the same!
  7. Wow. The few tech writing jobs available in the Tri-State area are all in Jersey. DEEP into Jersey. Now that's a first...
  8. I know you can continue to collect UI if you move out-of-state. But what if you move to a different country? I'm kind of curious...
  9. While I'm asking, can anyone recommend an online MA for Instructional Design, Educational Technology, and/or New Media? TIA!
  10. I'd love to upgrade my post-grad certificate to a full MA. Any ideas on MAs that lead to work in Instructional Design/New Media?
  11. I think I have to stop hoping to find a perm job. I've been contracting too long; companies just don't find me a viable perm candidate. :(
  12. Thinking about hitting up publishing houses for editing work. Any suggestions/tips?
  13. Please pause today in tribute of those who sacrificed during wartime for our benefit.
  14. If any of my peeps in Canada hear of any tech writing jobs via the grapevine. please let me know. In any city, not just the Big Three!
  15. Got a rejection email for the job in VA. Bad for the bank account, but no worries. Obviously not meant to be. :)
  16. There's no such thing as a "North American" accent. And don't call someone Canadian "American". That's like calling someone Welsh English!
  17. @craigmcn Props for the poppy pin. Wish I could find one in the US to wear. :(
  18. Good thing I was stuck waiting for the plumber all day- it gave me time to finally finish my posts re: last week's interview in VA!
  19. I need to learn more about the new legislation for attending school while on UI. I would <3 to earn my MA in Educational Technology.
  20. Patience is a virtue. Especially when you're at the end of the recruiting process, aka waiting on the final decision. (Deep breath) Ommmmmm.
