  1. Viva Twitter! I mean, where else can a few good friends forego AM productivity to instead publicly kick each other in the shins?
  2. @arrington I was being serious too. Phew!
  3. @Konatbone Whoops. I take it back. Mike would argue that. :) Seriously, have to go. Enjoyed the debate... mostly because you lost. ;)
  4. @arrington Hahaha. Phew!
  5. @Konatbone Just not true. I don't even think Mike would argue that. Source and appropriation method matter. Period. Gotta go.
  6. @andrewmueller I will post the clip as soon as I get one.
  7. @jenneronomous Thanks for saying that! I will pass those kind words along.
  8. @Konatbone 4) Your characterization of news outlets trafficking in stolen goods really requires understanding what "stolen" means.
  9. @Konatbone 2) I am glad he didn't just publish everything 3) I still disagree with publishing any of it....
  10. @Konatbone I have to get back to whatever it is I do for a living. To summarize.... 1) I respect that Mike thought about all this...
  11. @Konatbone Dude. Seriously. Go read about what a trade secret is. They comprise a formal subset of the information involved here.
  12. @imlisteningto Likely no. And as @arrington has alluded to, it seems @techcrunch is being helpful behind the scenes (I have no actual info)
  13. @JasonCalacanis I agree. And I have said that I respect Mike's deliberative process here. I do. I just still come down on the other side.
  14. @Konatbone But if you hack my email server, for whatever purpose, to steal a trade secret, or to view pics of my dog, you broke the law.
  15. @Konatbone If you sign my NDA, I tell you the plans for my new startup, and then you go give an interview to Arrington, you can't go to jail
  16. @Konatbone And, again, don't use the words "stolen" and "leaked" interchangeably. The law just doesn't work that way.
  17. @Konatbone Trav, if you're going to play lawyer, go read up on what a trade secret is (it's a very specific term).
  18. @Konatbone Leaking a document is a breach of a private contract between co and employee. Not illegal per se as no clear public policy then.
  19. @Konatbone and 2) the public policy/ethics about what to do when in posession of that information. Don't pretend it is clear or common.
  20. @Konatbone Dude, this has nothing to do with trade secrets. It's about 1) the crime of unauthorized access to a computer (Fed anti hack law)
