  1. @brianknight @kbriankelley @Made2Mentor hmmm, going from SSD to hard drive doesn't sound like an upgrade to me. :-(
  2. @AaronBertrand Then again, $350 is probably pretty cheap for design work. What do I know about graphic design? I'm a DBA, after all.
  3. @AaronBertrand Yeah he used 99designs: http://tinyurl.com/yjty4sa ...they're not cheap. Theme design starts at $350.
  4. What's a good site for soliciting bids for a personal blog\brand redesign on the cheap?
  5. @BenchmarkIT Dang! I need to come to your user group meetings!
  6. @SQLvariant 4-Way SSD Round-Up Redux: OCZ, Corsair, PhotoFast: http://tinyurl.com/yhsodct
  7. @SQLvariant hahaha, THAT'S funny!
  8. @sqlrunner Agreed that there is an issue on older Operating Systems. OCZ provides tools that can be run manually to alleviate that.
  9. @way0utwest @sqlrunner @buckwoody @SQLvariant The difference between hard drive and SSD is like a Ford Festiva vs. a F1 car.
  10. @way0utwest You could go with a low capacity SSD for OS and programs, then put music, movies, docs, etc. on 2nd (slower) drive.
  11. @buckwoody I guarantee you'd more than make up the $$ in the productivity you gain running on SSD
  12. @sqlrunner I've been running on Win7 RC on SSD for 2 months. Zero loss in performance.
  13. @sqlrunner Loss of performance fixed with TRIM implementation in Win7
  14. @sqlrunner I can launch Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. in under 3 seconds on SSD. 10-20 seconds on hard drives.
  15. @sqlrunner I disagree. Cold boot to Win7 login in 20 seconds with SSD, 60-90 seconds with traditional HD
  16. @SQLvariant I'm running a 120 GB OCZ Vertex...Prices used to be close to $300 but have gone up closer to $400 lately
  17. @buckwoody Bet if you popped an SSD into it you'd look back on how it performs today and think it was a tired old dog!
  18. @SQLvariant Laptop or server? #SQLPASS
  19. @buckwoody Tell me you run that bad boy on an SSD
  20. @SQLScottGleason Yeah the Kill-A-Watt's on my Christmas wish list. :-)
