  1. Thank you, Al. You may not always feel it yourself, but your spirit and energy are singular, and I value you immensely.
  2. Now some positive words: out of all the great people I've met in the genre, @AlasdairStuart is one of the few thoroughly *good* ones.
  3. Last two messages deleted. We came to terms. Both of us made bad choices to take things public, and I apologize for my part. Moving on.
  4. @rslatkin yes. Not Kit. She and I are fine.
  5. Anna has just given me a "Stop communicating with that person" order for the second time. She really does love me. Grateful for her.
  6. @timocratic No, an open life is seeing and sharing opportunities when doors are open. This is just banging my head against a wall.
  7. @spiritualtramp I fucking hate that excuse. "You're only human" is a categorical embracing of mediocrity and self-limitation. I DENY.
  8. More stupid pain. Why do I insist on caring about people who so clearly would prefer I didn't? And why do I let it hurt me over & over?
  9. Einstein said insanity is doing the same thing over & over and expecting different results. Was rather insane tonight. Must learn better.
  10. @MeganEnloe @Nobilis You're completely right, Megan. The mystery of the invisible pink unicorns is ineffable. They cannot be effed.
  11. @DDog Are you checking your direct messages?
  12. @salimfadhley Not from a systems perspective. To the ecosystem, death is just a resource reallocation.
  13. RT @KeithAnselm: What would emergent simplicity be like?
  14. Want a better software ecosystem? Purchase Bad Code Offsets: http://tinyurl.com/ydq7vs2
  15. I could never be a biologist or economist. Whenever I think about emergent complexity I tend to be paralyzed with amazement.
  16. @blissBean Was it uncomfortable? And except for that, how was the meetup?
  17. Today's day is brought to you by the letter S, the number 2, and then a step to the right. (You called it, folks.)
  18. Speaking of Dostoevsky -- Dr. Phil interviews Raskolnikov: http://bit.ly/2KXYvf
  19. Wondering to what extent Death Note was inspired by Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Magic & demons aside, the plots correlate.
  20. Been watching Death Note on Hulu. What a SMART anime series. Tightly plotted, and an unambiguously evil protagonist. It's gripping.
