  1. Mary danced the Conga with a Mardi Gras type at midnight on a concrete stage in a back alley in Nombre de Dios.
  2. Going into Nombre de Dios now to watch the Saturday nite Conga dancing. They don't get wound up until around 10 P.M.
  3. Spent most of day in Colon shopping for more tools and kitchen stuff for the villa - quite an adventure. .
  4. If I had the Portland cement concession in Panama, I'd be richer than Bill Gates.
  5. "American" night at Don Quixote's near Portabello. Expatriate couple had pet sloths draped over their shoulders. Is that going "Native"?
  6. @eMarv How about 3 mill for a hill on the ocean in Panama?
  7. @Marla_B We have internet via a satellite dish. Mail by general delivery to Colon or Panama City. No FedEx or UPS service x in Colon or PC.
  8. @julesvern97 I'd ask you to FedEx an apple dumpling to me in Nombrey De Dios, but they don't even have mail service here, so eat one for me.
  9. English-speaking Chinese man told me you probably can't find a bookstore anywhere in Colon (2nd largest city in Panama), Spanish or o/w.
  10. I stuck lots of fence posts in the ground back on the farm, but never saw one take root and sprout branches like they do in Panama.
  11. Dean spent 30 minutes opening a coconut with a machete. Wasn't worth the effort. Off to breakfast in Numbrey de Dios.
  12. @2drinksbehind We judges refer to sleezy lawyers in the collection business as "bottom-feeders."
  13. The beach in front of our Villa is a "highway" between Viento Frio and Nombre de Dios - by foot, horseback, and pushing wheel barrows.
  14. Constant 86 degrees in Panama but nice breeze off the gulf. Took a nap in a hammock in the shade on the veranda. Beats shoveling snow.
  15. 3 A.M. & just arrived at Nombrey De Dios on the gulf coast in Panama after 10 hours in a plane and 3 1/2 hour drive over bad roads.

  17. You can't imagine how much work it is to dress twelve daycare kids to go home when it's twenty below zero. Layers and layers.
  18. Remembering when I found a nun guilty of careless driving. Later got Xmas card w/ note: 'May God forgive those at courthouse who do wrong.'
  19. MN forfeits your car on 2nd DWI. In brief why I shouldn't order, lady says "I need it, period." Should give it back as reward for brevity?
  20. 19 below this morning. Mary's busy packing for Panama. K.J. is snoozing on his pad. Open the door & his look says: Do I have to go out?.
