  6. VDI and storage! @rspruijt has a paper out at http://bit.ly/5LL55q I had a sneak peak last week . Worth your time to read if you touch VDI.
  7. latest MIchael Yon report from the stan. http://bit.ly/7fhNiI > Michael in an ex-army SF'er turned journo. He does great battlefield pics 2
  8. @Chimerically its design is very simple. Easy to maintain, takes a beating, cheap to produce, effective. If it wasnt an AK we'd all want 1
  9. For those that asked, the AK-47 (and variants) was the number 1 combat rifle, design, longevity, etc all played a roll in them picking it.
  10. RT @jasonboche: Sometimes I go out into the woods alone and talk about VMware NDA stuff with myself. <- Now thats funny.
  11. for sure when the 1903 springfield made number 8!!!!!!
  12. the m14 only made number 10 on the Mil channel's top 10 combat rifles???? huh. not sexy I know but should be higher on the list.
  13. 2nd -nontech tip: snow is coming- full tanks of gas, emergency cold weather kits, snack bars, matches etc in the car boys and girls.
  14. rons tech tip o the week: 2+GB for vdi vms is a good thing. it will help disk perf, which is a common bottleneck in VDI environments/
  15. @jasonboche no kidding. i have one that is never recognized as a valid USB device. they are no help.
  16. @jtroyer yeah I bet! When at Dell I had like a 100MB quota... try dealing with calendar objects with attachments and a 100mb quota.
  17. Silly daughter quote of the day: 'he should keep his booger hook off the bang switch' re: a guy on tv with finger on trigger while walking
  18. @harrylabana Needs control... or needs mgmt. I see those as two different things. Control today is "locked out" not mgmt.
  19. @michael_keen Thus the idea that IT HAS to embrace user installed apps and self provisioning....
  20. @nboevink remember, like old MetaFrame/XenApp servers, VDI usr counts r about workload, srvr config, and performance expectations
