  1. The Torch has been and is now on it's way eleswhere. An amazing turnout.
  2. Almost every property on the houses side of Lee Road, Lynton has flags and bunting for the Torch - except the Vicarage and the Presbytery!
  3. The girlies must have enjoyed their trip out of the pen yesterday as there were 10 eggs (plus one broken one in the nest box).
  4. Sea calm as a mill pond this morning. Fox spotted on North Walk - s/he had better keep well away from our girlies.
  5. The girlies have been allowed out of their pen for the first time. They have enjoyed roaming around the garden in the sun.
  6. Much warmer now the wind has dropped. The girlies don't like it being windy so there were only 5 eggs yesterday.
  7. Very windy today - quite a lot of the bunting for the torch run has already come down. We will not be putting ours up till Monday morning!
  8. The girlies have been here a week now and between them have so far produced 64 eggs! It's sunny today again so they'll like that.
  9. The sun is shining, the birds are singing - and we are not in drought after all the rain in April. Things are looking good.
  10. The girlies didn't get too much in the way of scraps yesterday so we will see how this affects egg production. More rain forecast.
  11. A damp day but the hens are revelling in being here. They have settled in well but haven't quite grasped laying their eggs in the morning!
  12. A sunny day now the Bank Holiday is over! Typical.
  13. The girlies are not very happy with all this rain - they got quite wet today and egg production was down to 7.
  14. Eight eggs today - looks like the new girls are settling in nicely. Weather sunny but still a bit cold for early May.
  15. These new girlies are hard workers - not even here 3 hours and we have already collected 3 beautiful brown eggs.
  16. Our new girlies have arrived - 4 white ones with bits of black round the neck area and 8 brown ones. Fresh eggs for breakfast tomorrow!
  17. Hen shed immaculate - it has new bunk bed nest boxes and a ladder and even lace curtains. The girls can be collected tomorrow morning at 11
  18. A bit overcast today so after breakfast we will be completing the preparations for our new girlies. Hope they appreciate all this effort!
  19. After a beautiful day yesterday, the rain is now back. Further work ongoing to fox-proof the hen house ready for our new arrivals this week.
  20. The sun is finally shining though the temperature is not very high yet.
