  1. @SlatzG ;)
  2. @newbiedm I have it on my other account. I think it'll change a lot for some people... although the RPG folk don't do that much Retweeting.
  3. @SlatzG But it was only when minis were made optional and they added Interactive Fiction and Roleplaying ideas that D&D really caught on.
  4. @SlatzG The earliest version of D&D borrowed rules from Chainmail, a miniature wargame, and some gamers have always used minis since day 1.
  5. @SlatzG Some gamers feel very strongly about the Miniature Wargaming lineage of D&D. I'm just not one of them. :)
  6. Nice! RT @DieByTheDie I'm honestly impressed! Make your own Gelatinous Cube Miniature: http://twurl.nl/n76utf
  7. @anthroposgames I've been buying FF books whenever I find them at garage sales and thrift stores. :)
  8. @SlatzG D&D was introduced to me as CYOA + more choices. I still think of RPGs in that way, which is different from a wargaming approach.
  9. @bafadam I haven't seen that yet. :)
  10. This is probably the funniest thing I've seen online all week: http://bit.ly/2pFCUj
  11. @bafadam You call for me, Chief? ;-)
  12. @SlatzG A lot of the "old school" blogs leave me scratching my head... even though I *do* like older #dnd. :)
  13. @SlatzG My background getting into gaming was Choose Your Own Adventures and Fighting Fantasy books rather than wargames. :)
  14. @ditransitive It's not just Twitter though... take a look at this: http://bit.ly/2pFCUj :)
  15. @Nordalia Yes, I think texting made a lot of people adopt some rather bad habits. :)
  16. @ianwheat Some notes from the discussion are available here: http://bit.ly/D7dRg
  17. @ianwheat Sure, I'll cross post it to this Twitter account as well. (I usually post my Web/Academic stuff on @designmeme)
  18. @SlatzG Although if there's no combat... or it's not the focus (eg. Cthulhu/Mystery) then it's easier to avoid using the dice very much. ;-)
  19. @SlatzG I guess it depends on whether you want to be FULL diceless or just reduce the dice a bit. I think you still want some random element
  20. @SlatzG I've never had any luck with PBEM games - but I know lots of people run them.
