  1. Too bad I'm in charge of my own schedule, else I could rage at someone for letting me have less than 24 hours at home this weekend.
  2. Up early on a Saturday and ready to go teach!
  3. Happy to be back in Bedford VA, for Weekend #2 of UVA Reading in the Content Areas class. The group is every bit as delightful this weekend.
  4. What an incredible group in this week's Page Co. (VA) CRISS training. Thoughtful and responsive, spirited and fun. I liked their thinking.
  5. Just arrived late-night in Luray VA. Two days of CRISS training, and then a day of administrator observation training. Good stuff ahead.
  6. Fascinating day of observations and trials of post-observation coaching discussions...the group was excellent, thoughtful, invested.
  7. Up and ready to start three days of observation training in Shenandoah County, VA. Day 1: middle school, where they're on fire for this.
  8. Two straight days with instruction team in Frederick Co. VA, and they were poppin'. Fantastic discussions, great questions, time well-spent.
  9. Looking forward to a week of working with admins and curr. specialists on observation and coaching skills. Lots of good progress thus far.
  10. What a fantastic 1st weekend with my fall section of Content Area Reading in Bedford, VA. Sharp, interested, motivated group. Class flew by.
  11. Started a new section of Reading in the Content Areas tonight for the Univ. of VA; looks like a terrific group of students from Bedford Co.
  12. I'm not sold on the "new Bloom's."
  13. Earnest/honest struggle for some admins: what to say to teachers who have 'good' passing rates on state tests? But is their teaching good?
  14. Lots of travels lately: last week, in Louisa, Nelson, Chesterfield, and Warren Counties (VA). Also put in a day working at UVA.
  15. Finding a bit of downtime while in the sandhills of N.C. to work with administrators this week. Good groups today of assistant principals.
  16. It's been a great couple of days with the faculty from Natrona County High School here in Casper, WY. Loved the way they tackled the ideas.
  17. My problem is I enjoy too much getting back into my presentations and tinkering with them. Now it's late, and the alarm will ring early!
  18. Have safely arrived in Casper, WY, and will have the pleasure of working the next two days with a high school faculty group here.
  19. At departure gate, woman left her breakfast trash on the seat beside her, while also reading From Good to Great. She must only be on Ch. 1.
  20. It is an interesting possibility to examine not what good teaching is, but what good teaching does.
