  1. @johanlindberg Great, let me know what you think! You have seen my Complexity white paper?
  2. @richardveryard The science behind heart surgery isn't difficult either, just requires practice.
  3. @aleksb6 That's where training and willingness to change comes in.
  4. @richardveryard What science?
  5. @aleksb6 "chasing" simplicity is very hard. Following a well defined process is much easier.
  6. @johanlindberg Yes, that is why SIP looks closely at organizational complexity as well as technical complexity.
  7. @richardveryard Putting humans in rockets is easy. Putting them in orbit and bringing them back alive, that's the complex part.
  8. @johanlindberg Small IT projects usually suceed. Large IT systems usually fail. SIP turns big systems into small ones.
  9. @aojensen The complexity of managing complexity is proportional to the amount of complexity being managed.
  10. @richardveryard Or if you can convince people you can handle more complexity...
  11. @Cybersal That explains The Butler.
  12. @aojensen Large consulting companys use complexity to intidate companies into hiring them.
  13. @aahoogendoorn If you are interested in IT Simplification based on SIP, see my white paper: http://bit.ly/3O3GMp
  14. @aahoogendoorn SIP=Simple Iterative Partitions. Simplification of IT systems based on the mathematics of partitions.
  15. @aahoogendoorn For SIP, reusability (as you define it) is important, but is an implementation issue, not part of the SIP analysis.
  16. @aahoogendoorn Maybe we could compare your smart use case technique and my SIP, see if they are complementary.
  17. @aahoogendoorn It would be fun to look at your agile SOA project from a complexity perspective. Interested?
  18. @aahoogendoorn IMO, agile is compatible with SOA if and only if simplicity is considered a key architectural attribute.
  19. @aahoogendoorn Claims SOA is BDAT. "Best Demonstrable Available Technology" or "Battle Damage Assessment Team." I vote for 2nd.
  20. @seabird20 Cluedo? Those Brits!
