  1. Paid tribute to Graham Gunn, Lib MP for Stuart covering giant slice of outback. Soon to retire after 39 years in SA Parliament! Great bloke.
  2. Opened Lockheed Martin's Electronic Systems Facility at Technology Park at Mawson Lakes. Plans for further expansion and even more jobs.
  3. As Min of Aboriginal Affairs in early 90s I was involved in campaign for cleanup of contamination by UK and passed Land Rights legislation.
  4. Land at Maralinga was poisoned by plutonium, strontium, and other nuclear contamination. In 90s great BBC doco called Secrets in the Sands.
  5. Historic handover soon of land to Maralinga Aboriginal people. Land used 50 yrs ago for UK atomic bomb tests. We are righting a great wrong.
  6. SA gov has committed $2.4m to enable Police to purchase Tasers following 6 month trial and advice from Police Comm. 300 Tasers to be bought.
  7. Same Sydney paper had a map featuring a 'proposed pipeline'. Again incorrect. Already exists.
  8. Households can water for up to 5 hours a week not 5 hours every day as reported by a Sydney newspaper!
  9. Ban on sprinklers remains in force. Watering cans and buckets can be used any time. Watering permits for elderly and disabled unchanged.
  10. There'll be more flexibility in watering times. Any day of the week. No odds and evens. But 6am to 9am and 6pm to 9pm watering remain.
  11. From midnight tonight households will be able to water gardens for up to 5 hours a week. An extra 2 hours.
  12. Just opened $29m ultra green 3 storey maternity and gynaecolog wing. Can handle 3,000 births a year. Part of $163m redev of Flinders.
  13. Dimitria Fest at the Hellenic Macedonian Cultural Centre. Great food and music. Next year it will be a street party on Henley Beach Rd.
  14. On way to Clare to open 9km northern extension to glorious Riesling Trail. Tour Down Under will be a big boost for Clare Valley in Jan.
  15. Went to extraordinary John Brack exhibition at Art Gallery. While Brack's contemporaries were obsessed with the bush he explored the city.
  16. Great review for the Boys are Back in today's Australian, and article about filmmaker Granaz Moussavi, who lives in Adelaide.
  17. Moussavi, born and raised in Iran, made film My Tehran for Sale, backed by Adel Film Fest and SA Film Corp. Screens this week in Adelaide.
  18. Just opened biofuel 'reactor' at West Beach. Part of race to harvest biofuel from microalgae that feed on sunlight, Co2 and saline water.
  19. Sth Aust'ns have helped save 44 billion litres of water this year. We’ll ease restrictions only if we can and if it’s the right thing to do.
  20. I don’t believe reports of hundred of thousands of hoon gardeners in SA. Vast majority of South Australians want to do the right thing.
