  2. Searched "Zea mays" on Twitter and found only three entries. So come on corn scientists - rock the maize!
  3. We finally rolled out the new code on Thur. Maize links to CoGe are sweet - on-the-fly views of genome colinearity! http://snipurl.com/nj0xx
  4. Close to fixing some session management issues that have plagued us forever! Working hard on new maize genome and a bunch of other stuff.
  5. CoGe's GEvo is an impressive tool for comparative genomics - http://synteny.cnr.berkeley.edu/CoGe/GEvo.pl We are building some cool links..
  6. Yanhai Yin (ISU-GDCB) and new signaling pathway involved in plant growth http://bit.ly/hOEGK
  7. Today rolled out numerous small tweaks to the website - elsewhere we are busy preparing a pseudochromosome browser for maize ( early June)
  8. A couple days late rolling out the new features... but it's all good....http://www.plantgdb.org
  9. Getting ready for big feature release on Tuesday. DAS client service for genome databases, better session management, drag-and-drop tracks!
  10. We have updated our sequence repository to GenBank Release 171.0, which was announced on April 15. Now updating BLAST and GeneSeqer indices.
  11. Big news for epigenetics: A 6th DNA nucleotide, 5-hydroxymethylcytosine, in mouse DNA http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/1169786
  12. PlantGBD's webserver was down last night starting around 23:20 CDT (US) - we apologize for the interruption in service. Back up now!
  13. Something new under the sun: deep sequencing of ribosome-associated mRNA fragments http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/short/324/5924/218
  14. We released the new Glycine max (soybean) genome browser today, based on the Glyma1 assembly. Also improvements to the main menu structure!
  15. Due to a DNS problem with our Web host, PlantGDB was down for several hours yesterday afternoon. Apologies to anyone trying to use the site!
  16. Updated plantgdb.org website to fix some lingering bugs from the initial release two weeks ago...and our Subversion repository is in place.
  17. Fixed the Search problem in ZmGDB, users can again search against all the Zea mays splice-aligned rice annotations http://tinyurl.com/zmgdb1
  18. The new website design went live last night - http://www.plantgdb.org now comes in a soothing mint-green flavor.
  19. DAS (Distributed Annotation Service) server works! First priority: serve community annotated gene models from maize. More info on March 10.
  20. The "working set" of maize gene models is now displayed on ZmGDB. See an example at http://tinyurl.com/d9md8y (light green track at the top)
