  1. Quitman Street has now been re-opened.
  2. Quitman Street (HWY 11) at the railroad crossing is closed due to a train derailment. Detour signs are in place.
  3. The area may receive rain/sleet in the late afternoon/evening hours.Driving conditions may be hazardous.If you have to drive do so with care
  4. Pittsburg Police will add random patrols over this holiday season watching for intoxicated drivers.
  5. Counterfeit $100 bills are circulating. They are "washed" $5 bills. Please check bills carefully before accepting them.
  6. There will be a community pep rally at the corner of Jefferson/Greer (Smith Furniture) tonight. Use caution when traveling through the area.
  7. The holiday shooping season is among us. Please secure your valuables when out shopping. Lock your vehicle.
  8. The traffic light at HWY 271 and FM 557 is flashing red in all four directions. Consider an alternate route and use caution.

  15. The railroad crossing at Fulton St is scheduled for closure at 2pm today through 6pm Saturday night. There will be no through traffic.
  16. Car burglaries are increasing. Thieves are targeting those who leave valuables in sight. Hide it or take it. Don't become a victim!
  17. Area residents are receiving bogus checks from Premier Research under the guise of a paid survey. This is a scam-discard the checks.
  18. Some in the area are receiving calls from area code 713.This is a scam originating from the Harris County jail. You are encouraged to hangup
  19. This area of the State could possibly receive upwards of 5" of rain through Monday night. Watch for high water. Turn around-don't drown.
  20. Traffic will be slowed on Quitman street for the next 30 minutes due to utility work. Watch for workers.
