  1. @carriejenkins I know the philosophy world is small, but this, of course, is well nigh incestuous ...
  2. Men's tennis: interesting for about twenty minutes maximum.
  3. @rumandreason Ooh I used to love the malfatti at Porta del Chianti.
  4. 'I think the only way I could be persuaded to Twitter would be if a live songbird flew into my mouth.' Will Self on BBC Radio 4.
  5. You really have to try quite hard to do a bit of LaTeX typsetting as ugly as Beall's Sprandrels of Truth. OUP should be ashamed!
  6. Accidentally(!) opened bottle of excellent Barolo yesterday (intended to open plonk). Oooof. So bought good steak today. Magic combination.
  7. I think I've finished redoing Gödel. One last print out and check ... Thanks to the dozens of people who've told me how to improve it!
  8. More Italian style sun here in Cambridge. It won't last.
  9. The rather good everyday Allegrini Valpolicella is brilliant from the fridge.
  10. Rereading my Gödel book to check for a corrected reprint. Gosh I didn't know I knew all that stuff.
  11. @carriejenkins A prior question is whether it is acceptable to go to a Twenty20 "cricket" match at all :-)
  12. Ye gods. Even the Guardian(!?!) has a Michael Jackson Souvenir pull-out. Has the world gone mad???
  13. Results of my Rosser revisions here: http://bit.ly/ui09m Ye gods, I hope I've got it right this time.
  14. It isn't finding proofs that is hard: it is finding proofs that make you think "yep! of course!! see it now!!!".
  15. Phew! Think the penny has dropped about how best to repair my crap version of Rosser's Theorem without unravelling other stuff in the book.
  16. Minerva holding back the rain clouds. Lots of kids graduating today in the sun.
  17. So back to trying to sort out Rosser's Theorem for the reprint of Gödel.
  18. All these people twittering from cutting-edge conferences. I'm impressed. I find it hard enough staying at home trying to understand basics!
  19. What beats the first glass of good prosecco in the garden on a summer's evening? The second glass, for a start ...
  20. @carriejenkins The Fellows Bowling Green for the grad student party was looking very good, and the white flowers(?) against the chapel too.
