  1. @franckdagostini good suggestion for docs, definitely. as for your specific problem, how is it not working?
  2. @nathan_scott @ben_h sorry I couldn't make it this evening, was catching up with a friend who is in town from overseas for only three days.
  3. another piece of progress for the Thinking Sphinx documentation: geosearching http://bit.ly/1A3IOT
  4. @nicholasf you're the second person to suggest that. I'll let it percolate in the back of my mind, maybe someone else will make it happen :)
  5. Another Hackday, but this one's in Mountain View: Random Hacks of Kindness, for Disaster Relief http://bit.ly/3vPnLI. Wish I could be there.
  6. @fuzzylizard ah, fantastic :)
  7. @fuzzylizard if you haven't seen it already, there's a new guide to using TS and Cucumber on the docs site: http://bit.ly/2PZIG
  8. @ben_h i'm afraid i've got meetings at midday and 4:30 - but aiming to come by for the lesson if at all possible.
  9. @monsieur_pickle most definitely. The aim is to have the (ya)rdoc only as a resource for those hacking on TS, rather than just using it.
  10. @jimneath thanks - still plenty of room for improvement though :)
  11. Thinking Sphinx search documentation is now far more exhaustive. http://bit.ly/2NokKB Tomorrow: geo-searching, advanced fields & attributes.
  12. @rosshill yeah, it's an excellent film - takes such a tricky subject and handles it uniquely and beautifully.
  13. I love getting mail (when it's not bills). If there's music as part of the package, that's even better :)
  14. Walked into JB Hifi for the first time in a long time. Not particularly wise, but I now own the latest Whitlams, Doves and Basics albums.
  15. @fuzzylizard you can - ThinkingSphinx.search(query, :classes => [Foo, Bar])
  16. @fuzzylizard if you're using ThinkingSphinx (going by an earlier tweet), ThinkingSphinx.search works just like Model.search, for all models.
  17. @gingerandhoney it could be he's trying to provoke a response from iaminigomontoya :)
  18. @tomstuart not sure if i'm a fan of being to set that value in two places... but if you write a tested patch i'll def consider merging it in
  19. Switched to the thinking-sphinx-099 gem? It's time to switch back. The main gem supports both versions of Sphinx now: http://bit.ly/1cfSz4
  20. @evan sql_host is set using the ActiveRecord config - sphinx.yml doesn't have any say in that value.
