  1. That'll be it for Tweets. I'll post my Post-Standard review on the Listen Up blog as soon as I can after the Dave Matthews Band set,
  2. Up in the stands, though, you can see lots of blue empty seats. I did see a huge video screen flash taking up the whole back of the stage.
  3. Frankenreiter played for a pleasing 35 minutes. The stage crew is hustliing through the set change. Down on the floor, there's lots of fans.
  4. Frankenreiter and his band of four follow with tasty roots-surfer-folk rock stew. He's building up some steam and his voice is pretty pure.
  5. Matthews: 'Hello. It's been a while since we've been here in Syracuse, Maybe 10 years or so. We sure do appreciate it. Yeah. Oh, man."
  6. Dave Matthews chats with the 'Cuse as he introduces Donavon Frankenreiter. Dave seems revved to be back.
  7. 25 mins or so until announced time for opener Donavon Frankenreiter. Wonder how many fans will stay in parking lot through his set?
  8. Organinzers said video screens will be part of the stage backdrop. From my angle in top tier, rightfield side, I don't see any. Maybe later.
  9. A big orange lift holds additonal speaker tower, 30 or 40 or feet above 2nd base. Stage seems right to the warning track in centerfield.
  10. Inside stadium, the biggest crowd is the GA throng pakred directly in front of the huge stage. Lost of room for more standees on both sides,
  11. Fans in packed lots looked happy as I walked up from past the Regional Market to the stadium. Warm and ready to see Dave Matthews Band.
  12. Live from ABS: 29 mins from Eastwood to my seat. Parking already in satellite lots in far ends of Regional Market. Lots fuller than stadium.
  13. OK more tweet. The 2 tent bands are very cool. John Seiger sounds like Louis Armstrong; Salsa Son Timba celebrates Latin sounds with party.
  14. That'll be it for tweets at the NE Jazz and Wine Festival. i'll post my P-S review of 3 national main stage acts on Listen Up blog tonight.
  15. Band leader Dave Frateschi has a great thing going here. Online at www.jazzkatsbigband.com.
  16. Mo Harrington adds her big voice to rocking "Orange Colored Sky," lovely "The Way You Look Tonight." Very nice touch.
  17. Only 1 1/2 years old, the Jazz Kats of Oswego/Fulton sure can swing. Great trumpet solos by Victor Russo, big band work by all the players.
  18. Rythm-airs play every Wednesday night at McNamara's in Camillus, so you can catch the mood, veteran big band jazz musicians there weekly.
  19. Mimi Osmun picks up trombone, sings instead piano work. She duets "Hello Dolly" with band leader Maureen Klum on trumpet. Cool moment.
  20. Rythm-airs have been playing big band music in CNY for 33 years, and the spirit remains strong. "In the Mood" drew dancers at front of stage
