  2. Unfortunately it looks as if the project may not continue. The global economic meltdown has finally caught up with our little site and our
  3. many apologies for so few tweets. This season has now ended and it was a great big rush to the end!
  4. Recording at full speed today. Context sheet city.
  5. W can't excavated the truncated bath complex beneath but we are finding the tops of the truncations. Absolutely fascinating!
  6. In northern portico the wallplaster has fallen directly onto the mortar floor below. This raises the question of whether paving was there.
  7. The medieval walls at certain points seem bottomless and we han't find any sign of a construction cut. Proving baffling for me!
  8. We now know the porticoed entrance to the forum cuts through a wall of the demolished baths under the forum, both cut an early road.
  9. Small finds keep coming in, I've lost count of the amount of coins we have found but one of our diggers found a ring!
  10. A two day storm has effected the twittering from the site. That doens't mean that work has been delayed though!
  11. And all this is on top of truncated late antique and imperial buildings.
  12. We are sifting through medieval occupation layers. Have a possible medieval mortar floor.
  13. Progress has upped now the students are more confident.
  14. Still getting lots of coins but none diagnostic without cleaning first. Our med wall keeps on going though.
  15. Sondages are going in and there's more complex stratigraphy here than you could shake a stick at. Great stuff!
  16. New coin record. Ashley has found 5 today.
  17. Excavation has slowed due to the need for photographing the site.
  18. 47 test pits in 4 days. Mosaics galore, and a stamped tile floor. This site rocks!
  19. Work on the palestra is continuing apace. Found a rubbish dump full of decorative pot.
  20. Possible drain located, yipee!
