  3. Grey sky, slate grey sea, snow now on hills of Orphir. Wind driven sleet at sea level. We have put food out for the birds who are feeding.
  4. Stromness still cloaked in darkness, wind is howling and waves crash against our pier. Soon the cold front bearing the snow will arrive.

  7. @benoliver999 Have long had a thing about USA Americans living under delusion they speak English. Their software should be labelled US-ENG.

  9. @benoliver999 I am also saddened by the many ways in which the English language is mangled by those unskilled in its proper useage.
  10. Crisp cold morning in Stromness. Harbour is filling with mist rolling in from the North End, Sun rising at this moment over Scapa Flow,
  11. Silly season in Stromness at the local chippie. They now supply medical advice. A poster on the wall declares that flu virus is a hoax.
  12. Creel boats head into dawn. The glow of sunrise adds to the glow of the Flotta flare-stack. Sea rippled by a light breeze. Lonely gulls cry.
  13. @benoliver999 I think a donkey that kicks as is witty for this time of the morning. Rather like toilet attendent that doesn't give a shit.
  14. @benoliver999 If supermarket has only got one lightbulb in stock, it won't be long before the whole island is living in a twilight zone! :-)
  15. Dawn came to Stomness this morning cloaked in orange hues. The cloud swirled in wisps of wind driven tafetta. http://tinyurl.com/yh3vwa4

  19. Dull grey morning in Stromness. Wind has dropped. Drake Eiders looking respendent in black and white plumage showing their blue highlights.
  20. And lo there were cats in the dining room watching over their rat holes by night! Cats still excited by smell of rat. Oust now being used!
