  1. All Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest offices will be closed on Thanksgiving day; they will reopen on Fri. Nov. 27. Happy Thanksgiving!
  2. Chelan- Pile burning today 11/3/09 at WA creek, then to Slide Ridge and WA Butte rest of the week, depending on conditions. Info @ 682-4990
  3. Chelan- Pile burning continues in Washington Creek and will continue next week. We will burn piles all fall, till snow prevents access.
  4. Wen River RD burns at Lk Wenatchee on Pole Ridge, N shore Fish Lk, Natapoc Mt/River Rd,Goose/Beaver Ck. Burns till Nov as conditions allow.
  5. Handpile burning at Fish Lake near Chiwawa Road, and White River Road 6403 in the Lake Wenatchee area today. Info call 509-548-2550.
  6. Plan to burn 10 acres of handpiles on west side of Hwy 97 near milepost 179 & 182 in Mill & Allen Creek areas today. 509-548-2550 for info.
  7. Freezing temps, rain & snow have diminished fall colors in ares of the forest. Still some color in low elev areas and south end of forest.
  8. Hunters-Landslide over Hwy 410 will affect hunting accessibility. Call WA DOT hotline 509-577-1635 for more info.
  9. Hunting season road closures on Chelan RD include Oss Peak Rd, Mitchell Ck rd 8215, 8200-112. Call 509.682.4900 for info. Office closed Mon.
  10. Entiat fire closes trails & roads in the Preston-Fox drainages. Call 509.784.1511 for details. Fire at 1290 acres, above 5000 ft elevation.
  11. Deciduous trees along Okanogan and Columbia Rivers are beginning to turn. Starting to see some nice reds and yellows, and golden grasses.
  12. Fall Colors--Take exit 63 off of I-90. Turn on to Rd 4823, stay right on fork at 3.9 mile mark. Vine maple are fluorescent yellows & reds.
  13. Entiat burn aggressively fought, dozer & hand lines holding on west flank towards Experimental Forest. Fire information # is 509.784.1511
  14. Beehive Burn out of Wenatchee remains contained after high winds Tues eve. Burn in patrol status. For area closure information 509.548.2550
